I am also glad he retouched Love Lockdown because I thought the first draft was simply shitty. I was like “ah for real? i can’t get some tings or a sample, something?? just some bad singing and drums?” i mean i did still ended up getting that but he gave a lil something whatever i can argue about that grade C- song…but this right here… will be one of my faves…I feel it.

I could never figure this out. Like, why do people hate him? What did he do? Is he annoying? Sure! But really, what teenager isn’t?? I hate Bow Wow more than I would ever hate Soulja Boy. I mean at least Soulja Boy writes and produces his own music! Even if it is a couple of the same loops over and over again on Fruity Loops…
Instead of endorsing some other big products, he first and foremost tried to establish himself as a brand by helping to create the “Yums” line which is his own shoe wear. Okay … Yums look like Greedy Geniu$, which look like Air Force Ones.. which equals the-shoe-I- would -NEVER- allow- my- friends-future friends-family-or-even- associates wear because they are ass-ugly and cheap looking…but my nigga tried right? He coulda easily endorsed some Sprite like 90% of hip-hop did at some point. He also has some video games or comic books coming out. I commend that; he is doing what he should be doing at his age. Video games, comic books, clothes, and talking about girls.
I also have to give Soulja Boy credit for knowing how to hustle. This dude has single-handedly sent a wake up call to record industry, he marketed himself through viral video and myspace. He is a pioneer when it comes to that. By partnering up with Youtube before anybody. He’s even influenced Diddy! Soulja Boy has over a hundred blogs just to reach out to the fans. If you’re not a fan of Soulja Boy, that’s fine. You probably aren’t a girl between the ages of 12-18. Or a boy from the ages of 8-17. It’s not for the older crowd. He’s tapping into an important market. It’s not for us.
There are people that say, Soulja Boy single-handedly killed hip-hop. BULLSHIT. I can name some rappers that are way worse than Soulja Boy! For example: Bow Wow! Listen to “Marco Polo” anytime Soulja Boy’s verse sounds better than yours? RETIRE. But I mean let’s face it, its not about the lyrics..It’s about the punchline, delivery, and the beats. Its not necessarily the content. Because the same people screaming I hate Soulja Boy are screaming “how raw Lil Wayne and Gucci Mane are.” The same people who NEVER say anything relevant. Lil Wayne half the time is so coked out you have to just laugh at it. Gucci Mane sounds fuckin retarded so I’m not even gonna get into it. I respect Soulja Boy because he’s a hustler. He’s rapping about shit thats real to him. This nigga is rapping about Shoes, Report Cards, and Ass…because what else is there to say at his age? Sorry to say it but Soulja Boy IS HIP-HOP. Original hip-hop was whatever was relevant at the time. It was storytelling, it was fun, it was dancing…and that’s what he is. So, sorry. I mean, when we live in the times where someone saying the alphabet backwards while sippin lean is considered to be the best rapper alive.. Why be so mad at Soulja Boy?? He’s got money coming out of the ears, ass, mouth and nose. HE is a hustler. He is ghostwriting, collaborating, producing, designing, got platinum plaques…and he JUST turned 18. He had everyone supermaning the ho’s last summer. Anybody else doing this? Hmm.. I’ll wait for that answer. So, before you tell your little brother to shut the fuck up and sit down he might just pay your college loans off one day. Don’t hate on Soulja Boy he’s just a young guy doing him. Growing up in the 90s, this was like one of the best shows ever! I loved it. I mean I remember being forced to watch it as a kid. My aunt loved it. She was around my age when it originally aired and I clung to her so naturally I watched it with her. I can’t believe I can find all of the original series of Degrassi online but I can’t find the Wonder Years?? Bullshit! This is an outrage! lol But I mean I’ll take what I can get. Since they recently stopped airing it. :(
